Horror most often comes up in Horror campaigns, but can also appear in more generic campaigns. It is the extreme of fear, so we also need to look at fear and morale checks.

Fear

Overcoming Fear is done using Will. Most people should make most fear checks most of the time. This is for reasons of playability if nothing else. Effects of Fear will normally cause penalties rather than force outright actions. Those penalties may indirectly force a character into doing something however.

  • Unsteady, your initiative is halved.
  • Frightened, as Unsteady, plus halve all skill checks. May gain a Fatigue to avoid halving skills for the round.
  • Terrified, unable to act except to run or cower.

10 Moderate danger.
15 Serious danger.
20 Lots of danger.
